The diamondback 3-9×40 mm aims at giving you the perfect shot. Although, this scope is not exactly a tactical scope, it gives you tactical scope like features and precision. In my opinion, that is a win-win situation. Getting right into the specs of the optics, the glass used is of very high quality and clarity. If you have been a vortex user, this should not come as a surprise to you. Vortex scopes have top of the line glass clarity.
You get two reticle options: a V-Plex reticle and a Dead hold BDC reticle. Both reticles are good in their own ways and can benefit you in the same. Now, the V-Plex reticle is a standard MOA reticle. It is Vortex’s version of a duplex crosshair reticle. It is perfect for those who are into shooting long range and hunting. The Dead hold BDC reticle is a Vortex exclusive reticle which is designed to reduce the guessing that goes into the bullet hold over at long distances.
The reticle is marked with hash marks which helps you centre your objective easily. All you have to do is select the correct hash marks and you’ll have a reliable bullet drop calculation. You can use this reticle for a variety of firearms like rifles, rimfire rifles, shotguns and high power firearms. The hash marks a reference marks on the reticle are extremely useful to calculate BDC in rough weather conditions and while ranging for far off distances.
Both of them are wire reticle in the second focal plane (SFP). SFP lets you focus change magnifications while holding focus on the reticle and your game. You also get a 40 mm objective lens which allows you to get an increased light transmission inside the tube, allowing you to get a brighter and clearer image. The reticle is totally visible even in low light conditions. The field of view is a 100 yards at 14.8 ft to 44.6 ft. The lenses are all multi-coated to give you a clearer and sharper image. The fast-focus eyepiece also allows you to quickly focus in and easily establish your aim.
